vyges-cut — the logic cut a re-synthesis works on

Foundation, not a command. vyges-cut is a library: it has no binary and is not installed on its own. vyges-rmp links it, and that is how you use it. Source: vyges-tools/cut.

Re-synthesis does not rebuild a whole design at once. It takes the logic behind a set of end points, hands it to ABC, and puts back what comes out. vyges-cut is that round trip:

  • extract: the logic behind the end points, bounded by registers, ports and constants, with its primary inputs and outputs, read from the timing graph;
  • write: the cut to ABC, as BLIF (with arrival and required times) or as a network mapped onto an ABC library built from the design’s Liberty cells;
  • put back: the old cells removed, the new cells and nets created under unique names, every connection at the cut’s boundary restored.

The same design and the same ABC result give the same edited design on every run: instances, nets and vertices are visited in a fixed order, and new names come from a counter the caller owns. blif-write and blif-read in vyges-rmp expose the BLIF half on the command line.
